What we are doing differently
Dental offices have always been pretty amazing at infection control practices (pandemic or not). We take it very seriously. We follow CDC, ADA, and local recommendations and requirements to help keep our patients and staff as safe and healthy as possible, including:
» Long-standing infection control practices continue, including comprehensive, professional sterilization of tools and instruments, and complete sterilization of surfaces in operatories in between every patient. We are trained professionals in avoiding cross-contamination.
» We use upgraded Personal Protective Equipment, including face shields and N95 masks. All team members, including our front office staff, now wear masks inside the office.
» We take temperatures and do symptom checks for all staff members daily, and these are recorded in a log. Staff members do not come to work if unwell.
» Pens and clipboards are sanitized between every patient.
» Touchpoints in our lobby and restroom are sanitized throughout the day.
» We screen all patients for COVID risk, by asking screening questions and performing temperature checks. Symptomatic or at-risk patients are rescheduled to follow the CDC recommended waiting period.
» So that we can practice social distancing, we currently check patients in from the parking lot, rather than our waiting room.
» We ask all patients to sanitize their hands upon entry using our touchless dispenser.
» We ask all patients to wear masks while inside the office (except during examination and treatment).
» Patients rinse with a mouth rinse prior to procedures which may reduce the salivary load of oral microbes, including potential COVID-19.
» We run 4 air filters inside the office.
» We use high-speed suction devices to minimize aerosols.
We care deeply about the health of our patients, staff, and community. If you have any questions, please give us a call (480) 785-9191.
Yours in Good Health,
Dr. Collin Ito
